Now is the time to enjoy it before summer packs its bags! 🌞
Guinguettes, funfairs, concerts, kids and drinks: the last summer events in Luxembourg, Metz and Thionville are here. And honestly, it would be a shame to let September win without a fight.
Thought summer was coming to an end? Think again. We’ve unearthed 6 pop-up spots to extend your holiday, enjoy the sunny days and postpone the inevitable return of 6 a.m. alarms and Teams meetings.
WHAT TO DO IN METZ THIS SUMMER? HEAD TO LES FRIGOS TO CHILL
Flip-flops are out, and so are the deckchairs! Until September 6, Les Frigos once again transform a former cold-storage warehouse into a little summer village, tucked away in Metz between the Seille and the Porte des Allemands.
No fuss here: settle down under the trees, grab a bite from the food trucks, raise a glass of local beer and enjoy a programme that changes throughout the summer. Craft markets, concerts, DJ sets, workshops, shows for children… every visit may have its own little surprise 🍹
Because summer in Metz isn’t complete without a detour to this little paradise. We’re sure you’ll love this fantastic social and cultural venue and that you’ll tell your friends about it too! 😎

A NEW GUINGUETTE ARRIVES IN METZ: LE JARDIN DE LA CIGALE
It’s brand new, beautiful, and you can enjoy it until September 30!
Head to Le Jardin de la Cigale, the La Cigale restaurant’s pop-up outdoor venue, located at the Paraiges tennis club! A drink in hand, tennis matches in view and music in your ears: not a bad plan, right? 🎾🍹
Just a few steps from Metz city centre, enjoy a shaded terrace overlooking the courts and FC Metz stadium. At lunchtime, settle in for a relaxed meal; in the evening, it switches to tapas, concerts, DJ sets and entertainment.
The little extra? The canal right next door, bringing a touch of freshness, and free parking.

LA PAILLOTTE IN BASSE-HAM: CONCERTS, APERITIFS AND A GUINGUETTE ATMOSPHERE
If your schedule is still calling for a few summer evenings, a few drinks on a terrace and a few good moments to share with your loved ones… we may have found a new place to add to your wishlist. La Paillotte in Basse-Ham is waiting for you until September 30 🏖️
As the week goes by, the venue’s atmosphere changes: concerts, music quizzes and karaoke nights liven up the evenings from Thursday to Saturday, while Sunday invites you to take your time in a guinguette-style atmosphere, with your feet in the sand and your head on vacation.
And then there’s the menu. The one that innocently starts with a pizza or a sharing platter and mysteriously ends with a waffle, ice cream or crêpe.

FAMILY OUTING IN LUXEMBOURG: DISCOVER THE PIPPILOTTA KIDS VILLAGE
Attention parents of little explorers: the PippiLotta Kids’ Village is setting up in the heart of Luxembourg City until September 1. The idea? To offer children aged 0 to 6 a free space to play, build, explore and let their imagination run wild 🧸
Crates, planks, bricks, wheelbarrows… Here, you don’t need the latest screen to keep children occupied: a few materials, a little freedom and voilà—a cabin appears!
In this safe space designed for little hands, everyone moves at their own pace, experiments, builds and invents their own adventures.
📍 Kids’ Village (KiVi), 40 Rue Philippe II, Luxembourg - LU
📆 Until September 1, 2026
SUMMER OP DER GËLLE FRA: THE GREAT SUMMER SPOT TO CHILL, PLAY AND DANCE
Until 13 September, the Summer op der Gëlle Fra sets up its deckchairs and summer atmosphere right in the heart of the city, on the Place de la Constitution. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of one of Europe’s most beautiful balconies.
What’s on the programme: live concerts, DJ sets, food stalls, a cocktail bar, a beer bar, pétanque, an open-air library, as well as two rides for your kids, the “Kettenflieger” and the “Circus Express.”
Between two games of pétanque and a few bites, we settle in, listen to music and, above all, enjoy ourselves. Because a summer without an aperitif with a view is a bit like ice cream without a cone: possible, but frankly a shame 🍹☀️

📆 Until 13 September 2026
AND OF COURSE… SCHUEBERFOUER 2026: THE MUST-ATTEND EVENT OF THE SUMMER IN LUXEMBOURG
OPENING THIS FRIDAY!
It’s impossible to talk about the end of summer in Luxembourg without mentioning the Schueberfouer!
From August 21 to September 9, as it does every year, the great funfair will transform Champ des Glacis into a joyful whirlwind of lights, rides and treats 🎠
Across its 4 hectares, people come to get their dose of thrills, try out the rides, wander among the stands and, above all, bite into the must-try Gromperkichelcher, those deliciously crispy little potato pancakes. Yesssss, so cruncheeeey!
And to finish in style: on the last day, the rides are half-price until 8 p.m., before giving way to the grand fireworks display at 10 p.m. ✨
📍 Glacis square (Fouerplaatz), Luxembourg - LU
📆 From Friday, August 21 to Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Supermiro's little reminder 👓
Even if summer is pretending to leave, we still have a few weeks left to pile on the drinks, concerts, fairground rides and festive evenings. So we might as well make the most of it before September comes stomping in.
