For Irma, the word is a model-box, a hut-word, a box-word to open, unfold, fold, refold, infuse, diffuse. Over time, striped boxes of various formats accumulate in the workshop. Inside these boxes are hosted materials, rolled-up paper scraps, fabric samples, drawn notes, written notes, found objects, crushed found objects, reusable found objects, smudges, stencils, counterforms, cut-outs, color-tests, mini wood engravings gift-sized, stains, accidents to keep. These workshop-boxes in miniature become portable workshops, workshops for later.
