The eyes of children will be as engaged as their ears in these Russian tales illustrated by two Lorraine artists: the draftsman and visual artist Amandine Meyer, and her associate Julia Dantonnet, who could be described as a sculptor of shadow and light. 'The Winter Bonfire' describes a countryside journey by little city dwellers, fascinated by the noise of the steam engine train, the falling snow, and the crackling of a good fire. Then, 'The Nutcracker' transports us to a magical world where toys defeat an army of rats and arrange a sumptuous party.
