A launchpad for both young quartets and young composers, the Diotima Academy has been hosted within the walls of the Cité musicale-Metz for its fifth consecutive season. Annually, through the efforts of the Quatuor Diotima, three young composers and three young quartets from the world's leading conservatories gather at the Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch for a week of collaboration. Accompanied by one of Diotima’s musicians, each quartet works on a newly commissioned piece by one of the three invited composers as well as on classical repertoire works. The outcomes of their collaboration are presented in this restitution concert, introducing the public to the new generation of artists.
