An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely disappeared since the Treaty of London in 1867, once defended the Kirchberg and protected the fortress city. Engineer Vauban, who led the siege work in 1684, was tasked with designing a project to strengthen the fortress. The museum offers guided tours of these fortifications.
Good to know
Duration: Two hours. Participants must wear appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and a flashlight for the tour.
