A total of nine areas for flowers and plants will be created around and between the existing trees. The greenery will contribute to environmental protection and improve the urban climate. It will also serve to protect species. Furthermore, the new green spaces will beautify our cityscape and make Am Duerf Square an even more attractive place to spend time, both for residents and for the numerous visitors. For eight years now, the lettering ‘I am Duerf’ has been a feature of Am Duerf square. The sculpture was unveiled on 5 May 2017 to mark the official opening of the first phase of the shared space. Over the years, however, it has faded somewhat and been partially damaged. After careful consideration, the sculpture is now being renewed. The old letters will soon be removed and replaced with new ones. The new lettering will be located on the retention basin in front of the entrance to the underground car park. This measure will create additional green space on Am Duerf square. The square will also appear more open and airy as a result. In addition, there will be more space for the various events that regularly take place here.
