She disturbs his everyday life. She becomes his source of inspiration.
In 1892, Claude Monet secluded himself for several months in rooms above a lingerie and fashion shop in Rouen to paint the Cathedral. Yet darkness and doubt overwhelmed him. A young model from the shop, there to try on a corset, joins him. She irritates him, she vexes him. But perhaps she would also help him regain his grace.
