Tell me where the flowers are - conference
The talk explores the fascinating connection between scientific precision and artistic aesthetics that gives 19th-century botanical illustrations their special charm. Through selected works – from Pierre-Joseph Redouté to Pescatorea – it is shown how these illustrations can be perceived not only as natural history documents but also as cultural assets and testimonies of historical knowledge and art understanding.
