Exhibition - Marina Abramovic - Counting the Rice
Born in 1946 in Belgrade, Marina Abramovic is a pivotal figure in the realm of performance art. Since the 1970s, she has revolutionized art by placing her own body at the center of extreme experiences, exploring the boundaries of pain, passivity, and audience interaction. An esteemed guest at the Paper Tube Studio (PTS), Marina Abramovic presents 'Counting the Rice', a participatory performance where the artwork is crafted through the perseverance of the visitor. Seated at a table, participants are invited to patiently sort grains of rice and lentils — a simple, meditative act invoking focus, discipline, and self-awareness. Through this repetitive gesture, everyone can discover art as a tool for concentration, introspection, and transformation.
