As part of the Journées du matrimoine, musicians of the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est honor female composers. The program spans two centuries of string quartet history, from Fanny Mendelssohn to contemporary works. Among the compositions performed are Amy Beach's Quartet op. 89, inspired by Inuit melodies, and Caroline Shaw's Evergreen, recalling Canada's Galiano Island. An exclusive creation for string quartet by Noriko Baba, associated composer at the Cité musicale-Metz, will also be featured. Reservation required.
