Every Wednesday, Pierre Brochant and his friends organize a dinner for fools. The concept is simple: each participant brings a "fool," and the one whose guest stands out the most is declared the winner. Tonight, Pierre is thrilled; he believes he has found the perfect candidate: François Pignon, an accountant at the Ministry of Finance, with a passion for miniature models crafted from matchsticks. However, Pierre is unaware that Pignon, eager to help, is a skilled bringer of mishaps and a master of creating catastrophes... A meeting of two fates that should never have crossed paths.
