Montage of found film reels (open workshop)
An invitation to attentive observation, to cyclical narratives, and to play with materials. In this workshop, open to all, participants work with previously exhibited 16mm film to explore storytelling through subtle change and repetition. The aim is to reclaim and reappropriate one's own narrative by cutting, pasting, and manipulating fragments of archival film. These modified strips are then projected in a loop. This workshop is inspired by David Claerbout's research on the perception of time.
