Regular guided tour: Welcome to the Villa
The exhibition presents a selection of Luxembourgish artworks, from the classical modern era to the turn of the millennium, including many recent acquisitions and donations.
The period before 1945 is represented by the 'secessionists' Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack, and Klopp, as well as Ernest Wurth and Adrienne Baudoin-d’Huart. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm, several series of images by Wil Lofy, Roger Bertemes' collages, and Pit Nicolas' sculptures illustrate an artistic creation oscillating between figuration and abstraction.
From the 1950s/60s, creative practice became more feminized (Jacqueline Hentges, Coryse Kieffer, Triny Beckius). From the 1990s to the early 2000s, visitors can admire paintings and graphic works by Moritz Ney, Marie-Paule Feiereisen, Annette Weiwers-Probst and Renée Oberlinkels, as well as a sculpture by Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini.
