Exhibition Claudine Maillet, Karin Mayer & Jean-Paul Thieffels
In 2007, I took my first steps into the world of painting. In my work, I seek above all to bring together abstract and figurative painting. I use collage either to create a richly textured background or leave them visible. The themes addressed include everyday objects as well as other various subjects that inspire me. I invite the viewer to discover every detail.
Karin Mayer joyfully and decisively creates her metal works. Her sculptures are born from a patient and intuitive process with salvaged materials: scrap metal, plates, and industrial parts that she selects and transforms. Both a craftswoman and an inventive visual artist, she combines technical mastery with creative imagination. Her abstract works reveal vigorous, stripped, and simple forms, with an even more expressive composition.
Jean-Paul Thiefels does not seek the spectacular. His source of inspiration is nature. There is no artifice in this work full of tension and energy, dominated by contrasts between smooth and rough, full and empty. The wood never appears constrained. The sculptor listens to the veins, waves, and torsions. These are elegant, subtle sculptures, carefully studied, showing sensual and biomorphic forms. Art and lots of love!
