#ISLECISLoft: Authentic Learning, Regenerative Future: Shifting Our Story of Schooling
What narratives shape our classrooms, and are they the stories we want to pass on? In this interactive workshop, we'll examine the inherited stories that have long defined education (narratives of scarcity, separation, individual achievement, and consumption) and explore what becomes possible when we intentionally shift toward narratives of flourishing (interconnection with nature, generational thinking, and care-based values).
Through big questions and collaborative dialogue, we'll investigate how these narratives show up in our teaching practices, curriculum design, and school cultures. Then, we'll move into practical application: What does it look like to teach from a regenerative worldview? How do we create learning experiences that honor collective wellness rather than competition? How can our classrooms become spaces where students understand themselves as part of nature, not separate from it?
This session is for educators ready to rewrite the story of schooling from more-is-better to enough-is-abundant, from short-term gains to thinking across generations, and from valuing what we own to what we give and how we care.
