Exhibition "Arlon through the ages"
- art
- exhibition
The Musée Gaspar invites you to discover an exceptional selection of more than forty old posters produced after 1860. These ephemeral documents are living witnesses of collective memory and tell the story of Arlon through its major events: art exhibitions, patriotic commemorations, cultural events, propaganda, and public sales. Some of these posters bear the signatures of local artists, while others feature utilitarian typography or popular lithography. All of them served an essential purpose: to inform and engage, during a time when public posters were a central vector of urban communication. Through this exhibition, discover an entire society — its tastes, its struggles, its celebrations, and its visual codes. Embark on a graphic and historical journey into the heart of Arlon, its walls, and its memories.
