Brain Freeze is Swar Joshi’s debut solo English comedy show (an ordinary one, because if everything’s a special, nothing is). It’s a fast-paced spiral through turning 30, cultural identity, relationships, and the exhausting sport of overthinking while pretending not to care.
Born in India, emotionally raised by the internet, and now based in the Netherlands, Swar lives between Gen Z and Millennials, East and West, and “I’m fine” and a 40-minute internal breakdown about saying “you too” to a waitress.
The show explores:
- expectation vs reality
- cause vs effect
- David vs Goliath
- India vs Pakistan
Part personal, part philosophical, part why am I like this, Brain Freeze is for immigrants, overthinkers, late bloomers, early worriers, and anyone who feels culturally fluent but emotionally buffering. Performed entirely in English.

Swar Joshi is a Utrecht-based comedian, part of the Comedyhuis talent team, named in TCT’s Top 20 Amsterdam Comics to Watch, and has been featured on Red Mic.
