Sunday Architectural Walks: A Park Lined with Villas

After the opening of the Luxembourg fortress in 1867, the government decided to prioritize the urbanization of the old plain front. After agreeing on the road network to be developed, they sold several lots for the construction of villas. In 1871, when landscape architect Edouard André created the park, these lots had already been sold for residential buildings. During our walk, we will discover who built these villas, who lived in them, and how these remarkable homes blended into the public promenades.
