Created specifically for the museum as part of the Women in Conflict series, the "Women in War" exhibition highlights, from a female perspective, the plight of women and children in conflict zones. It is a retrospective of over twenty years of work by American photojournalist Lynsey Addario. Through a selection of powerful photographs, the public is invited to explore territories and populations scarred by conflict in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Ukraine. The themes addressed include the condition of women in times of war, motherhood in conflict zones, survival in crisis regions, and dignity and resilience in the face of destruction, violence, and death. Admission to the temporary exhibition also grants access to the permanent collection.
