Choir and Organ Concert on the Theme of the Passion
Many composers have written beautiful and moving works on the theme of Christ's death, especially those from the German Romantic period. You will discover the magnificent O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden by Félix Mendelssohn, performed by the Petit Chœur de Forbach, with the influence of Johann Sebastian Bach being felt. Also on the program is the grand Stabat Mater by Josef Rheinberger, with Victoria Lescalier accompanying the choir on organ. Thierry Ferré will also present organ pieces by Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, and Gustav Merkel, in the tradition of the great Romantic style.
