The Kulturfabrik stage will vibrate to the incandescent universe of Pongo, a key figure in the new Afro-fusion scene. Born in Luanda and raised in Lisbon from an early age, Pongo has developed an artistic universe deeply influenced by questions of identity, culture, and resilience. Internationally revealed with the explosive track "Kalemba (Wegue Wegue)", she established herself as a leading figure in contemporary Afro-fusion. Known for her electrifying live performances across Europe and her noted COLORSxSTUDIOS appearance, Pongo blends kuduro, Afrobeats, and electronic music into a powerful, modern style. She's winning over international audiences with works like "Sakidila", "Pongo Baddie", and "Kuzola" (featured on the FIFA 23 soundtrack). Winner of the 2020 Music Moves Europe Talent Award and nominated for the 2024 Kora Awards, she returns with "Banana", a new release mixing warm Afrobeats grooves and patois-influenced flow.
