Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch returns to the Grand Théâtre with a double bill first performed by the choreographer and dancer at the Festival d’Avignon in 1995. In "Café Müller" (1978), Pina Bausch stages six performers in a café, moving with eyes closed, bumping into furniture, stumbling and catching each other, reflecting human fragility. In "Das Frühlingsopfer" ("The Rite of Spring", 1975) set to Stravinsky’s famous score, the community comes together around the sacrifice of the Chosen One to welcome the return of spring. Two major works where the choreographer explores vulnerability and the power of the collective. On stage, soloists and the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg join the performance.
