Show & CultureShow & CultureUniPop, in collaboration with PassaParola, is organizing a film discussion around the movie The Arrival of Youth. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director, Fabio Bottani, and the producer, Maria Grazia Galati. Shown in the original Luxembourgish and Italian versions, with French subtitles, this medium-length film traces a century of Italian immigration in Luxembourg through the story of five generations of the same family. Among wars, resistance, life journeys, and successes, the film also highlights the football team Jeunesse d’Esch-sur-Alzette, a symbol of a community marked by its mining past. Inspired by the work of Remo Ceccarelli (Tanti italiani fa... in Luxembourg, 2019) and created as part of Esch2022 European Capital of Culture, it combines archives and fiction to reveal a history that is still too unknown.

The evening is entirely free. The film will be screened in its original version in Luxembourgish and Italian, with French subtitles at the beginning of the screening.
