Anti-ableism and tetraplegic actions. Coming from the South of tetraplegia, I take you on a tour through its neighborhoods. Myself and all my inner voices argue as we try to understand: What is ableism? Is it only about people with atypical bodies or different minds, or does it concern everyone? Where does it come from? How is it built? A family dispute between myself and myself: you're welcome to join! This is a stage performance: a 'gesticulated' conference. It is a personal account of experiences, reflections, and awareness about issues related to disability and the place of those who live with it. The talk focuses on ableism: the systemic discrimination and oppression of those who do not fit the standard of what is considered 'able-bodied.' Pierre discovers the term, explores the reality, and raises questions. It deals with self-image, vulnerability, norms, boundaries, and mutual support. He shares the thoughts and writings of disabled community authors, and brings together perspectives from anthropologists, biologists, poets, and activists.
