Every Wednesday, Pierre Brochant and his friends organise a “dinner of idiots”: each participant brings an idiot, and the one whose guest stands out the most is declared the winner. Tonight, Pierre thinks he has found the perfect candidate: François Pignon, an accountant at the Ministry of Finance and a matchstick-model enthusiast. But Pignon, always ready to help, is notoriously unlucky and a master at triggering disasters. It is the meeting of two destinies that should never have crossed paths.
