By Bernard Blistène, former director of the Musée national d’art moderne. Curator of the 1986 retrospective devoted to François Morellet at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and then at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, he offers his perspective on the work of one of the major French artists of this century. Between reason and unreason, the lecture traces Morellet’s career, from his early paintings to the monumental neon installations that established his international reputation.
