The Luxembourgish duo First Mote presents its experimental and cinematic folk in the entrance hall of Casino Luxembourg, celebrating the release of its debut album, Snapdragons at the Market. The group will be joined by Luxembourg-based Belgian DJ and producer Sensu, who will deliver a DJ set punctuated by live elements. First Mote (LU) Jamie Reinert and Christophe Demart have been childhood friends. As teenagers, they started making music together in a basement. After several years spent playing in different bands, they launched their own project, First Mote. While their self-produced debut EP, Middlecroft (2022), was primarily built around baritone electric guitar and drums, their new album, Snapdragons at the Market, broadens their sonic palette with banjo, pedal steel, acoustic guitar and synthesizers. Recorded at home, the album shifts between groove-driven rhythms and minimalist, atmospheric textures. Sensu (Youth, Meandyou, Meakusma — BE) The Luxembourg-based Belgian DJ and producer Sensu has been mixing for more than 25 years, bringing an eclectic and experimental approach to his sets. As a producer, he has released his work on labels such as Youth, Meandyou and Meakusma. His DJ sets explore experimental and eclectic atmospheres and modes, blending a wide variety of genres into a whole that is sometimes extremely minimalist, sometimes highly melismatic, bordering on industrial, avant-garde, electronic, ambient and many other sonic worlds. Live, Sensu continues this same exploration, focusing on experimental club sounds and beyond.
