LEVEL 2- Understanding nutrients, blood sugar and inflammation
Why do some meals give us energy while others are followed by a slump in energy or cravings? What role do proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals play in the functioning of our bodies? And what links exist between diet, stress, blood sugar and inflammation? This second level offers a deeper understanding of the nutritional and physiological mechanisms that influence our energy, concentration, recovery and overall balance. Participants will discover the role of the main micronutrients, as well as the mechanisms that regulate blood sugar. The course will also cover low-grade chronic inflammation and the interactions between diet, sleep, stress and lifestyle. An introduction to how the nervous system functions and to the physiological response to stress will provide a better understanding of why chronic stress can influence appetite, food cravings, sleep and fluctuations in energy.
