Muerbelsmillen Discovery of the Mill
Historic site and interpretation center
The origins of the Muerbelsmillen (“Mohrfels mill”) date back to the 11th century. Lately and until 1985, it operated as a mustard factory. Today, the site retains the old technology of the mustard mill, supplemented by an exhibition.
The visitor discovers the large water wheel in its canal as well as the room on the first floor where the grinding was done with gears and millstones. A historical film illustrates the operation of the mill and the production of mustard. A special space is reserved for practical workshops.
