The end-of-season event with Verdi's legendary and grandiose opera, Aïda, presented outdoors, at the Stade Saint-Symphorien in Metz. The action takes place in ancient Egypt and tells the story of Radamès, an Egyptian general, who disdains the love of the king's daughter in favor of Aida, a young slave who is also the daughter of the king of Ethiopia , mortal enemy of Egypt. The two lovers find themselves trapped in the conflict existing between the two countries. Passion, betrayal and sacrifice mingle in this tragic work, enhanced by Verdi's music, a brilliant synthesis of French grand opera and Italian melodrama.
