Growing up in a small village amidst the steep cliffs and grassy hills, Eivør is deeply inspired by the unique landscape of the Faroe Islands and its lively traditional folk music. Despite centuries of foreign domination, the folk culture of the Faroe Islands has survived, especially through community singing and dancing. Eivør has developed her distinctive guttural singing technique by drawing inspiration from beatboxing and heavy metal growling to convey the wild expressiveness inherent in the traditional music and culture of the Faroe Islands. Often regarded as one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation, Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, crossing musical genres and continuously pushing the boundaries of the expected. Awarded the Nordic Council Music Price in 2021, Eivør's musical journey continues to captivate. After self-releasing her music for many years, Eivør's latest album "ENN" marks her debut with the metal label Season of Mist. Despite her compositions existing outside any genre, she is delighted to be embraced by the metal community.
