Having grown up in a small village amidst the steep cliffs and grassy hills, Eivør is deeply inspired by the unique landscape of the Faroe Islands and its vibrant traditional folk music.
Despite centuries of foreign rule, the folk culture of the Faroe Islands has endured, notably through communal songs and dances. Eivør has cultivated her distinct guttural singing technique by drawing inspiration from beatboxing and heavy metal growl to convey the wild expressiveness inherent in traditional Faroese music and culture.
Often regarded as one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation, Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, crossing musical genres and constantly pushing the boundaries of the expected. Awarded the Nordic Council Music Price in 2021, Eivør's musical journey continues to fascinate.
After independently releasing her music for many years, Eivør's latest album ENN marks her debut for the metal label Season of Mist. Although her compositions are genre-defying, she is pleased to be embraced by the metal community.
