From their first meeting, Sebastian Voltz and Gilles Grethen felt an undeniable musical attraction. Their approaches to piano and guitar naturally complemented each other, blending their rich timbres in a striking manner. The piano-guitar combination is often viewed as a delicate endeavor; in the duo's interpretation, they create a colorful tableau, intertwining their rhythms into a complex fabric, skillfully exchanging roles, transitioning melodies from one to the other, and transforming the limitations of the two similar instruments into opportunities. The duo's compositions showcase passages of intimate subtlety, combined with moments of thick texture and intensity.
