The exhibition offers a journey through emblematic cities and picturesque areas of Italy, spanning four centuries of history. It showcases idealized landscapes, detailed city views, and scenes of urban daily life, all sourced from the collections of Gallerie d'Italia (museums of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank). The works reflect Mediterranean light, architectural elegance, and the richness of ancient history. The journey begins in Naples with 18th and 19th-century paintings and watercolors, explores fantastical capricci from the 17th and 18th centuries, takes viewers to ancient Rome, Florence and its Tuscan landscapes, Milan as an industrial city and historical center, and concludes with Venice and its famous vedutisti like Canaletto, with a final stop at Udine and Verona. The journey ends in an interactive space where visitors can create their own virtual Capriccio.
