Based on an episode from the extensive Sanskrit poem Mahâbhârata, "A Throw of Dice" embodies the epic spirit of the first great cinematic sagas. As a result of an unexpected Indo-German co-production, the film was shot in Rajasthan with numerous extras and animals, including fifty elephants from royal houses. This magnificent romantic spectacle will be performed alongside the score by sitar player Nishat Khan, joined for the occasion by members of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
