From its very first performance on December 18, 1892, in Saint Petersburg, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker has enchanted audiences. Like the scent of cookies, this music is inextricably linked to the Christmas season for generations of listeners. At the Philharmonie, the tale is presented in a staging by Caterina Cianfarini, in a version for two pianos.
