Shift invites you to notice the invisible: the rhythms of a working day, the vibration between the body and sound, and the echoes of what has disappeared. Shift is a long-duration performance that explores the cycles of work, care, and sound through systems of movement and repetition. In this piece, bodies navigate through constantly evolving variations, overlapping and co-creating. The presence of each spectator becomes an integral part of the performance, with the space of neimënster itself acting as a score, resonating with the stories it holds. As water evaporates and sound swirls, only temporary traces remain – of movements, moments, meanings. This performance is part of Clio Van Aerde’s research project "Work It – Poetics of Bodies at Work," developed during her residence at neimënster in January/February 2025.
