Italian Café with Valerio Varesi - Dolce Vita Festival
Valerio Varesi was born in Turin on August 8, 1959 to parents from Parma.
A philosophy graduate from the University of Bologna after a thesis on Kierkegaard, he became a journalist in 1985. He is the author of eleven novels with recurring heroes, including The River of Mists, nominated for the prestigious Italian Strega literary prize and the Gold Dagger Award in Great Britain. The investigations of Inspector Soneri, a lover of good food and fine Parmesan wines, have been translated into eight languages. The Other Law, the 10th investigation of Inspector Soneri, was released in France in April by Editions Agullo, translated by Gérard Lecas.
Considered by the press as "a fantastic writer" (Le Figaro Magazine) or as "an immense poet" (France Inter), the work of Valerio Varesi is often compared to that of Georges Simenon and his commissioner Maigret.
