« Tell me, am I right? » conference
War, violence, anti-Semitism, freedom of speech: these themes concern us today. However, they are not new. In three remarkably clear speeches, Jan Philipp Reemtsma analyzes current phenomena by linking them to historical debates and events. Subjects include the conception of Enlightenment as a continuous dialogue (in connection with Christoph Martin Wieland), the containment of war violence since the Thirty Years' War, and the history and present of anti-Semitism. Jan Philipp Reemtsma is a professor and founder of the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture and the Arno Schmidt Foundation.
