Five women in a detention facility often gather at the library after workshops. Tired, they discuss the daily life in prison, the schemes, the difficult relations with other inmates, and their partners who have forgotten about them and never visit. They share an imaginary Christmas feast when a new inmate arrives, who was arrested while trying to flee with her daughter Alice who had been taken away from her. They were caught as she was buying "On ne badine pas avec l’amour" by Alfred de Musset in a bookstore. The five women decide to stage and film the play to send the video to Alice.
