Venetian Splendors, Vivaldian splendors: the music of the 'Red Priest' embodies the essence of the Serenissima – baroque and lush. In Venice, Vivaldi directed many of his masterpieces to the young orphans of the Ospedale della Pietà. Hervé Niquet and Le Concert Spirituel honor these legendary musicians by selecting an ensemble of female voices in double choir, thus illuminating the Gloria and the Magnificat. This selection of psalms showcases this singular art that combines polyphonic opulence, theatrical expressiveness, and serene spirituality.
