At the intersection of music, sound design, and speech, this work expresses the lived experience of hearing through overlapping soundscapes, musical fragments, and treated voices. Premiering globally, this piece was created in collaboration with individuals who hear voices, a psychiatrist, a doctor, and a composer whose family members have experienced auditory phenomena. Understanding and acknowledging this experience is one of the first steps towards a compassionate response aimed at reducing stigma, raising awareness, and improving outcomes for affected individuals.
