If we know this major composer from the English scene via his 'hits' The Sinking of the Titanic and Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet or his collaborations with Bob Wilson, Merce Cunningham, or Carolyn Carlson, most of his work has been very little heard in France. Himself on double bass and directing his ensemble alongside soprano Sarah Gabriel, he revisits thirty years of vocal writing, notably through his Adnan Songbook (1995) composed on texts by the Lebanese poet and painter Etel Adnan.
