The exhibition takes us to discover iconic cities and regions of Italy. Spanning four centuries and featuring works by Italian, Dutch, French, and British painters, it showcases idealized antique landscapes, numerous vedute, and scenes of urban daily life. The paintings share southern light, architectural elegance, scenic charm, and the omnipresence of antiquity. In addition to views of the mentioned cities, it features capricci, imaginative compositions of antique ruins in bucolic landscapes. Among the exhibition’s highlights are Roman squares painted by Gaspar van Wittel, Venice by Canaletto, and the industrial Milan depicted by Umberto Boccioni. At the end of the exhibition, visitors of all ages can create their own capriccio through digital collage. A painting corner and a quiz are also available for families with children.
