Universal Freemasonry is based on a network and international connections. The building of the Hotel de la Loge in Luxembourg, dating back to the 14th century, was transferred to the Corporation of Mercers in the 16th century. Severely damaged by bombings during the siege by French troops in 1684, it was rebuilt to host various departments in the 18th century before becoming the current seat of the Grand Lodge of Luxembourg in 1818. The entire hotel can be visited, including its Masonic temple, feast hall, belvedere with its library, as well as the exhibited artworks.
