After a short summer break, we're back with film events! We're starting with the most recent film by Joachim Trier (known for The Worst Person in the World, which earned him international acclaim) entitled Sentimental Value. This film is described as a comedy-drama, has a score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, the festival's second most prestigious award (after the Palme d'Or). For those who don't necessarily focus on awards and ratings, it seems to be an intimate analysis and reflection on the relationship between father and daughter, with its ups and downs. Considered slightly predictable and less complex than The Worst Person in the World, it nevertheless seems worth seeing, especially for the performance of Renate Reinsve, a talented Norwegian actress. Please note that the film is in Norwegian, and subtitles at the screening at CineUtopia on Saturday will only be available in French and Dutch.
