In this chapter of the trilogy, the young and timid Hobbit, Frodo Baggins, inherits a ring. Far from being a mere trinket, it is the One Ring, a tool of absolute power that would allow Sauron, the Dark Lord, to rule Middle-earth and enslave its peoples. Unless Frodo, aided by a Fellowship consisting of Hobbits, Men, a Wizard, a Dwarf, and an Elf, manages to carry the Ring across Middle-earth to Mount Doom, the place where it was forged, and destroy it forever. Such a journey means venturing deep into Mordor, the land of the Dark Lord, where his army of evil Orcs is gathered... The Fellowship must not only battle external forces of evil but also internal strife and the corrupting influence of the Ring itself. The outcome of the forthcoming story is intimately tied to the fate of the Fellowship.
