Viewers of the NDR network and slam poetry enthusiasts know David Friedrich as a host and stage poet. Not to be confused with his namesake from Dschungelcamp, who is a drummer. The Poetry Slam David Friedrich doesn’t play any instruments but hosted the show Kummerkasten for a year on the children’s channel KiKA. Active on the stage since 2006, he holds numerous titles: German champion, Hamburg champion, Schleswig-Holstein champion – and even Bavarian champion. Do these titles matter? Not much. Awards are ephemeral; poetry is to be admired, not judged. Language: German.
