What if the first African to set foot on the Americas was… an emperor? 13th century. West Africa thrived under the Manden empire. Long before Christopher Columbus, Emperor Abu Bakr II set sail towards the unknown with 2,000 ships. He disappeared into the vastness of the Atlantic. Between legend and truth, this film reveals the journey of a visionary sovereign and restores the Manden civilization to its rightful place. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the director in attendance.
