A pioneer in the creation, production, and teaching of contemporary dance in Canada and abroad for over 35 years, Ballet BC returns to the Grand Théâtre with a three-part program featuring renowned choreographers. First, Crystal Pite's Frontier, a piece that explores the uncharted territories of human consciousness through dance. SWAY, by Ballet BC's artistic director, Medhi Walerski, is inspired by Emily Dickinson's 1862 poem "Hope" and accompanied by a composition by Adrien Cronet, invoking a lyrical language of movement and highlighting dance's ability to communicate without words. The third part, BOLERO X, revisited by Shahar Binyamini (More than, 23 • 24), is a new interpretation of Maurice Ravel's iconic work with 20 dancers on stage. A pure celebration of the power of dance!
